Enabling Facial Recognition for Smart Surveillance

networkOptix
Network Optix began with an idea to provide a better way to discover, view, and manage IP cameras. Their Nx Witness VMS works with hundreds of IP camera manufacturers as well as integrates with CyberLink's FaceMe® Security. FaceMe® Security enables Nx Witness with improved AI analytics facial recognition.

Nx Witness + FaceMe® Security

Nx Witness VMS monitors, records, and manages video surveillance of IP cameras (support for hundreds of IP camera manufacturers). FaceMe® Security seemlessly integrates with Nx Witness to add AI facial recognition. This provides Nx Witness users with detection of blocklisted individuals, employee access control capabilities, and optimized facial search, which can lead to faster video investigations.

Facial Recognition Monitoring

FaceMe® Security will send an alert to Nx Witness when someone is recognized in an area. Users can click the thumbnail and play back recorded video of the event.

Advanced Object Search

In Advanced Object Search, users can filter events using FaceMe® Security metadata, such as name, employee ID, people group, and mask status.

Search by Face with FaceMe® Locator

The FaceMe® Locator plug-in enables Nx Witness users to search by face. When on the hunt for a person of interest, users can conduct a search with a facial image and view a list of matching results.

Fast and Effortless Search

Select a facial image (from an image file or recorded video), input date, time, and camera location.

Click on an event from the quickly generated search results to playback a video file.

System Structure

The decentralized architecture of FaceMe® Security provides a high degree of configuration flexibility and high availability (HA). Taking in video streams from Network Optix Nx Witness, the workstation analyzes the characteristic values and compares them with the database in Central to identify the person and set the corresponding permissions. When the set conditions occur (for example: blocklist), Central can immediately notify Nx Witness to take action. Additionally it can trigger 3rd party access control systems (via DIDO and Wiegand protocols) and send notifications to communication software (i.e. Slack, Teams, Line, U Messenger).
