PowerDirector 2027 and PhotoDirector 2027 introduce AI Agents that understand what users want to create, with major upgrades to generative AI and on-device AI PC processing
TAIPEI, Taiwan, September 17, 2026 - CyberLink Corp. (5203.TW), a leading provider of digital creative software and AI solutions, today announced its annual update to Director Suite, with new AI Agents built into PowerDirector 2027 and PhotoDirector 2027. Rather than performing single tasks one at a time, the AI now interprets what a user is trying to create and carries out multi-step work across editing, retouching, and design. CyberLink's marketing content platform, Promeo, adds the same capability with Promeo Agent, extending AI Agents from video and photo creation into marketing content production.

PowerDirector: AI Agents Take On the Editing
PowerDirector's newest feature, the Agentic Editor, turns a folder of clips into a finished video. Ask for something like "make me a Reels video," and the AI organizes and edits the footage. Natural-language commands can also remove objects from a shot, apply filters, add transitions and effects, and generate captions automatically.
Alongside the AI Agent upgrades, PowerDirector and PhotoDirector add more than 10 new generative AI features and model updates.
PhotoDirector: Chat-Based Editing and Broader RAW Support
PhotoDirector's Edit by Chat feature has been upgraded. Instead of working through layers and detailed retouching, users can describe what they want in a single sentence, whether that's touching up a portrait, changing a photo's style, refining the overall design, or adding text. PhotoDirector also now supports RAW files from more than 1,400 cameras, giving users more flexibility across everyday editing and advanced photography workflows.
Promeo: AI Agents for Marketing Content
Users describe their marketing needs in natural language, and the AI factors in the brand, the product, and the purpose of the content to help produce images, videos, and social media assets, closing the gap between an idea, its design, and the finished asset.
From individual creators editing video and photos to brands and businesses producing marketing content, CyberLink is building AI Agents across its product line to support a wide range of creative work.
AudioDirector: AI Music Generation
Generative AI is also moving into audio. AudioDirector, built for voice recording, podcasts, multitrack recording, audio repair, and mixing, adds an AI music generator called Lyric to Song. Users type a text description and get original music to match.
AI PC Mode: Choosing Cloud or On-Device Processing
As the AI PC ecosystem grows quickly, PhotoDirector adds an AI PC mode, letting supported AI features run using the device's own processing power. Users can choose between cloud and on-device processing depending on the task, balancing performance with a faster, more responsive experience for AI-assisted photo editing.
This year's update marks a broader shift for CyberLink, from adding AI features to building AI-driven creative workflows. The company plans to keep deepening the integration of its own AI technology with its multimedia software as it builds toward a smart creative ecosystem spanning video, photo, and marketing content.
