Cyberlink Debuts its First Interactive Pop-Up AI Museum at LA Times Festival of Books

“InstaArt: Create Your LA Story” Exhibit Inspires Festival Attendees to Create Instant Art and Their Los Angeles Stories

Los Angeles, CaliforniaApril 9, 2019 — Reflecting a fast-evolving world of modern and personalized storytelling beyond the traditional book form, multimedia software provider  will be at the University of Southern California (USC) and debut its first interactive pop-up museum at the Los Angeles Times Festival of Books, April 13 and April 14, 2019. Themed “#InstaArt: Create Your LA Story,” the museum is a free, interactive, customizable photo booth and exhibit. It is aimed at inspiring digital artists, photographers, visual storytellers and festival attendees to create, tweak and showcase their instant art and personalized Los Angeles stories via digital, social, viral methods and software tools.

Visitors to CyberLink’s exhibition space will be able to see AI-created art, thanks to CyberLink’s powerful AI Style Plug-in for both PowerDirector and PhotoDirector. On display will be videos and photos that, with the help of CyberLink’s AI engine, have been transformed from the ordinary to the extraordinary. The exhibition will feature carefully curated art from the LA artistic community and emerging digital artists, including local award-winning director and photographer Jeff Dotson.

“Technology is transforming art as we know it, and providing creators with new and impressive ways to express themselves and tell their stories,” said Jeff Dotson. “CyberLink’s editing tools are helping me push the boundaries in my creative projects, and allowing me to explore broader artistic techniques in my work.”

The pop-up museum will include a photo booth, where visitors can capture, edit, and share their LA stories. Customizable background themes will feature Hollywood landmarks ranging from The Hollywood Sign and the Walk of Fame, all the way through to local hotspots such as Santa Monica Pier and Venice Beach. Visitors will also be able to try out some of CyberLink’s incredible AI Styles for PhotoDirector 365 and Director Suite 365 and turn their photos, and videos into exhibition-worthy works of art.

“Los Angeles has long had a dynamic creative scene that extends well beyond the glitz and glamor of Hollywood. The LA Times Festival of Books is more than just a celebration of the written word, it provides an event for the artistic community to gather, collaborate and thrive,” said Richard Carriere, Senior VP, Global Marketing at CyberLink. “CyberLink is proud to join this year's Festival, and we’re excited to show how our technology, including our AI-powered editing tools, can help professional artists as well as anyone with a creative soul express themselves in ways that were not even imaginable a few years ago.”
